A pair of Gilt French Bergere Chairs

These 19th Century French gilt beregere chairs have previously had a cane seat, however it is rare for them to survive this length of time with use. They have been replaced with a drop on seat pad which i have re covered in a plush velvet in deep blue. They have some breaks in the cane at the back and the finish on the backs and legs have a lot of their original gilding and have not been restored, which adds to their charm.

They are a really pretty chair and look lovely as bedroom or hall chairs.

They are stable, however i believe they are not suitable for heavy use.
